Most of what a handyman does is not one big job. It is the list on the refrigerator: the bedroom door that will not latch, the towel bar that pulled out of the wall, the TV that has been sitting on the floor since it arrived, the caulk around the tub that has gone black. Individually none of these is worth a contractor's trip fee. Together they are a half-day of skilled work, and that is exactly what we schedule.
Panda Handyman serves homeowners across Harford County, Maryland, from our base in Havre de Grace. We ask for a minimum of about one hour of work, so the best value is to send us the whole list and let us knock it out in a single visit.

Single visit vs. standing maintenance
Most homeowners book a one-off visit for the current list. Landlords and owners of older homes sometimes prefer a seasonal visit — spring and fall — so small problems are handled before they turn into repairs.
Materials: ours or yours
We can pick up materials and bill them at cost, or install what you have already bought. If you have chosen a specific fixture, hardware finish, or shelving system, have it on site before the appointment and check the box is complete.
Repair or replace
For doors, hardware, and trim, we will tell you when a repair is a good use of money and when replacement is cheaper in the long run. A hollow-core door with a split edge is usually a replacement; a door that rubs the jamb is usually a fifteen-minute adjustment.
Before you book
Wall type matters for mounting
Drywall over wood studs is straightforward. Plaster and lath (common in older Havre de Grace, Aberdeen, and Bel Air in-town homes), metal studs in newer townhomes, and brick or block all need different anchors and more time. Tell us what your walls are if you know.
Group the list
Our minimum is about one hour of work. Three small items in one visit cost less than three separate calls, and it lets us bring the right materials in one trip.
Where the line is
If a repair on the list turns out to be electrical beyond a fixture swap, plumbing beyond a fixture or valve, structural, or roofing, we will say so and refer you to the right licensed trade rather than improvise.
What affects the price
Quotes are free and by the job. These are the things that move the number.

- 02Get a straight price. Repairs are quoted by the job; remodels get an itemized written scope after a site visit. You know the number before we start.
- 03We show up and do it. We arrive in the scheduled window, protect the work area, and finish the list. Anything unexpected behind a wall is explained and approved before we continue.
- 04Walk it together. We walk the finished work with you, clean up, and haul away the debris. If something is not right, we come back.

General Home Repairs — questions we get
Is there a minimum charge?
We ask for a minimum of about one hour of work. Most homeowners group two or three items into a single visit, which is the most economical way to use a handyman.
Can you quote from photos, or do you need to come out?
For most repair-list work, photos and a short description are enough to give you a price. We schedule a site visit for anything structural, anything involving a remodel, or when the photos leave the scope unclear.
Do you supply materials or should I buy them?
Either. We can pick up materials and bill them at cost, or install what you have already purchased. For hardware and fixtures where finish matters, buying your own is usually the better path.
Can you mount a TV on a brick fireplace or into plaster walls?
Yes. Masonry and plaster take different anchors and more time than drywall, so let us know the wall type when you request the quote.
How soon can you come out?
Most repair calls are scheduled within the same week. Jobs near Havre de Grace and Aberdeen are often sooner; northern Harford County is grouped a few days out to keep travel efficient.
Do you do emergency or same-day service?
No. We schedule during normal business hours, Monday through Saturday. For an active leak, an electrical hazard, or a lockout, call a 24-hour plumber, electrician, or locksmith.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Panda Handyman is licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC #166189) and carries liability insurance. You can verify any Maryland home improvement license on the Maryland Department of Labor website.
Do you work on rental properties and turnovers?
Yes. Turnover punch lists — patching, paint touch-up, hardware, fixtures, caulk — are a regular part of the schedule, especially in Aberdeen and Edgewood.
